I am a performer, aerialist, yoga teacher, personal chef, health coach and hang gliding pilot. I was raised Macrobiotic and began my physical movement training when I was 3 with ballet and tap, a few years later, curiosity led me to gymnastics. When I was young, I wanted to be an astronaut, then realized there were way too many clothes involved, and instead opted to hang glide to fulfill my dreams of flying. After studying modern dance and international food politics at Sarah Lawrence College, I grappled with how to integrate my passions for healthy living, adventurous physical movement and flying.
This lead to my formal studies of Macrobiotics at the Kushi Institute, my holistic Health Coaching training at Institute for Integrative Nutrition and my yoga teaching with Conquering Lion Yoga. Currently my love of dancing, flipping and flying can be found at Fuerza Bruta on Union Square in NYC.
My passion is to support people in fulfilling their wildest dreams by providing them with the tools and inspiration to live a healthy lifestyle that is fun, energizing and empowering.
Angelica Kushi's Personal Chef Services, based on Macrobiotic principles are available for individuals and families.
Specifically, I provide personalized cooking for new families at the time when they need it the most...right after child birth. About my training:
I received my training from Conquering Lion Yoga, under the direct guide of Kelly Morris, where the true purpose of “yoga” is clearly taught as a means to reach Enlightenment for the sake of every living being as outlined in the traditional Yogic texts. Conquering Lion Yoga successfully unites two sacred systems that have been torn apart by the 2500 years of war, politics and invasions, but were once one: the Indian tradition of Vinyasa and the Tibetan Buddhist Principle Paths that link directly to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Buddha Himself. My studies continue with Yoga Studies Institute under the direct guidance of Kimberly Theresa and Ted Lafferty.
