KUSHI'S KITCHEN is a green company with studios in Minneapolis, MN and NYC. We are a Natural Foods Cooking School and Macrobiotic Center with studios in Minneapolis, MN and NYC. Kushi's Kitchen offers a variety of counseling and educational study programs for individuals, groups, and companies. All sessions and programs are available in person and via phone or Skype.

The Founder
The founder and director of Kushi's Kitchen, Gabriele Kushi, BFA, MEA, CHC, AADP, is an internationally renowned lecturer and recognized expert on healing with natural foods and Macrobiotics with 30+ years of experience in her field.

As the author and photographer of the book Embracing Menopause Naturally (Square One Publishers), and 11 cooking class videos, Gabriele is often featured on radio talk shows and quoted in the media and on the worldwide web. She has been published among others in the Natural Health Magazine, Taste for Life, Essential Wellness, and Das Grosse Leben Magazine in Germany.

Gabriele has dedicated her live to educating herself in the Healing Arts, sustainable living, indigenous healing, spirituality, research, and Macrobiotics, developing from a young woman into an authority on alternative health.

She is a board certified Holistic Health Practitioner and Macrobiotic certified Counselor and Cooking Teacher and holds a Bachelor of fine Arts Summa Cum Laude in Photography and Native American Studies. She is a graduate of the Kushi Institute, with advanced training with the Institute’s founders Michio and Aveline Kushi. Gabriele holds certifications on macrobiotic philosophy, counseling, cooking, and Oriental health diagnosis and is certified by the Macrobiotic Educators Association.

In the early 80th while studying at the Kushi Institute, Gabriele was an intern at macrobiotic foremost teachers Michio and Aveline Kushi’s study house in Boston, USA. For 7 years, she assisted at Michio Kushi’s counseling sessions and at Aveline Kushi’s cooking classes, and worked as their personal house chef. Their son Haruo L. Kushi and her have been married and have one daughter.

Gabriele also graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in conjunction with Columbia University Teachers College, NYC, where she studied a variety of dietary theories.

Gabriele serves on the advisory board of Earth Save International, is the Chair of the Aveline Kushi Peace Foundation, and received the 2009 Aveline Kushi award. She collaborates with Native American medicine women and healers and spiritual leaders in Africa, and has worked in Europe, Japan and throughout the United States. She does non-profit work in Africa, teaching nutrition for healing.
